SCM Inspection and Maintenance Certification Course CDOT (April 15th & 16th)

The Colorado Stormwater Center provides a certification course on inspection and maintenance of stormwater control measures. In this 1.5 day training workshop, we teach participants how to recognize SCM maintenance needs and how to perform maintenance correctly. The workshop includes 8 hours of presentations/discussion in a classroom setting, a 2-hour field trip and a 2-hour written exam (optional). Participants that successfully pass the written exam receive certification from Colorado State University Extension and are recognized on our website. **The Center reserves the right to cancel the course no fewer than 7 days in advance if the minimum number of workshop participants has not been reached

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests must be made in writing and received by the Center no later than seven (7) days before the date of the training in order to receive a refund (less a $30 cancellation fee). No refunds will be issued after this date.

MS4 Permit Training (February 17th, 2026)

This certification is the practical guide for stormwater program managers, coordinators, and municipal staff responsible for MS4 permit compliance. We teach you how to implement practical, field-tested solutions to navigate the extremely complex and important environmental laws at the heart of your permit. You will gain practical knowledge in applying the Six Minimum Control Measures (MCMs) mandated under the MS4 Permit and Clean Water Act and learn to effectively integrate practical protocols and procedures throughout your organization to protect this critical resource, ensuring compliance with your Stormwater Program and ultimately safeguarding your community's receiving waters. Please note: The Center reserves the right to cancel the course at least 7 days prior to the event if the minimum participant number is not met. The Center requires a 7 day notice for individual cancellations. Individuals will not receive a refund if notice is given with less than 7 days.

Stormwater Control Measures During Construction (February 3rd)

The Colorado Stormwater Center offers a one-day course on stormwater control measures during construction. This course provides in-depth training on roles in pollution prevention, permitting, stormwater management planning, inspections, and enforcement.

Workshop Format:

7 hours of classroom-style presentations and discussions

Optional written exam

Certification: Participants who successfully complete the written exam will receive a certification from Colorado State University.

The Colorado Stormwater Center offers a two-day workshop on Stormwater Control Measures Design and Review. This course provides and in-depth training on how stormwater control measures are designed and critically reviewed.

Optional 2 hour written exam

Certification: Participants who successfully complete the written exam will receive a certification from Colorado State University.
